Fitness Kickboxing teaches basic kickboxing skills and combos, designed to give you a fat blasting workout to increase muscular strength and cardio-respiratory endurance. Prepare to sweat through plyometrics, calisthenics, and weight training with easy-to-follow martial arts moves.
Wednesday Evenings, 6:15 pm
This class will build your foundation in Belly Dance basics and beyond while improving coordination, flexibility, as well as toning your core with every movement. No dance experience is necessary. The best part about taking Belly Dance is that you will have so much fun you won’t even realize you are exercising.
For the more serious dancer, monthly performance opportunities are available. To advance your dance skills to a proficient performance ready level, Belly Dance must be practiced consistently.
Class consists of a warm-up, technique drills & combos, choreography, and stretching. All levels are welcome as you develop your technique, posture, and sense of rhythm.
Tai Chi Chuan & Qigong
Fridays, 10:30 am
Tai Chi Chuan has a reputation to be effective for health and healing while focusing on relaxation, breathing, and mind body coordination. It can help improve strength, flexibility, and endurance. This class includes internal and external training through Qigong and Yang style forms and their application. This class is great for beginners and experienced Tai Chi practitioners.
Self-Defense – 7 week course (5/15 to 6/26)
Confrontations and violence can be frightening. Taught in a safe and empowering environment, this self-defense class focuses on strengthening your natural defense abilities and offers a series of no nonsense self-defense techniques for the body and mind. Learn to use your intuition and voice to increase awareness and set verbal boundaries and de-escalate situations. Students will have several opportunities to practice their new skills and work with a mock attacker.
Note: This is a 7 week trial class. With enough attendees, this class will be ongoing.
